I have started making angel earrings, using semi-precious stones.  I have made four different ones, so far, which I show in photographs, below.    Both the angel head and body are made from the semi-precious stone.  I also used a 4mm silver plated spacer for the halo, and 3mm spacers on the body.    The ear wires are handmade from 20 gauge silver filled wire.    The head pin is also silver filled wire, but 22 gauge.  The wings are antique silver.  I like to use high quality materials in the items I make.  I like to see variety in the angel wings, also.

The fun thing about semi-precious stones is that they have a history, a geography and  symbolic meanings.  I find the information about these stones fascinating!  I have labeled the semi-precious stones, here, with the name they are most known by.  You may want to look up information on these stones, such as how they are formed, what they are made up of, where they are found, and their symbolic meanings.  Some brief information about each of the stones below can be found on my etsy shop site:                              http://embellished charms.etsy.com.  You are welcome to visit it.  In case you like what you see as a gift, or something for yourself, I have a 10% discount for new customers until August, and a 15% discount for returning customers.  I especially wanted to offer the new customer discount to my loyal blog readers.

I’d love to hear from you about what you have found out about these or other semi-precious stones, and/or how you like these angel earrings.  Enjoy!
