Hi! I’m excited! Jewelry Making Journal contacted me last night to let me know that my article on Wire Wrapping Raw Stones is being published in the Jewelry Making Journal Newsletter. I love this Newsletter! I have been reading it for years. This is a Newsletter that Rena Klingenberg started for the jewelry making community. It now goes out to millions of people. I have learned so much from her website. I knew I would have something published someday, but I didn’t know what. I picked Wire Wrapping Raw Stones, since I love doing that so much. I want to give back and add to the jewelry making community.

Hi! How is your holiday season going? I have been going to rock shops in CA and UT, Gem and Mineral Shows, and Bead Shows. I like to hand pick the gem stones I work with. My favorite type of gem stones are raw gem stones. I enjoy picking up a raw gem stone and deciding where the stone could be wrapped, either with sterling silver or copper wire. I also use square wire. It is fun to twist it and use it in the design. Free form wrapping is my favorite. Each wrapping turns out differently, depending on the stone. Here are several examples:
